Oona Siren, a midfield player for the Finnish national team, has officially signed a two-year contract with West Ham United.

The 23-year-old leaves Norwegian Toppserien team LSK Kvinner to join West Ham United. The midfielder earned 19 games in the Norwegian premier league before returning to her previous team earlier this year. In her senior career, Siren has also played for the Finnish teams TiPS and KuPS.

This season, the player will put herself to the test in the English game for the first time since she is eager for a fresh challenge.

“It feels amazing to be here,” Siren exclaimed upon finalizing her transfer to West Ham United. Playing in England will be a task I’m looking forward to. I want to put myself to the test against the top players and clubs because I know the Barclays Women’s Super League is the greatest league in the world.

“Playing in the Champions League and representing Finland has inspired me to never stop striving to be the greatest player I can be. I’m confident that working at West Ham and being a part of this community will further my player development. I am eager to get going.

The eighth player to join West Ham United during the summer transfer window is Siren.
