Club are fully expecting Tottenham to make a bid for their £35m player soon

Tottenham Hotspur could be about to make a move for another new midfielder in this summer transfer window.

Spurs have already added Archie Gray to their ranks this summer, while Lucas Bergvall has joined up with the squad after his transfer was sealed in the winter window.

Despite getting two new bodies through the door, Tottenham are still on the hunt for a new midfielder, and they could be about to make a move for one of their long-term targets.

Indeed, Conor Gallagher is a player Tottenham have been linked with for ages now, and a move could be in the offing.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Dharmesh Sheth has been discussing Gallagher and his future at Chelsea, and he says that Chelsea are expect Spurs to make a bid for Gallagher in the near future.

Chelsea expecting Tottenham to make Conor Gallagher move

Sheth shared what he knows about the £35m man.

“There’s also the possibility that Premier League clubs will be interested in Conor Gallagher. We think that Chelsea are expecting Tottenham, who, as you mentioned are long-term admirers, to come in again for Conor Gallagher. They tried to sign him last summer and in the end Chelsea said no.”

Why Tottenham may have edge in Conor Gallagher race

Atletico Madrid are said to be close to signing Gallagher, but Spurs may still have an edge in this race.

Indeed, Gallagher apparently wants to stay close to home.

According to Dean Jones, a move to Newcastle or Aston Villa was seen as too far away for Gallagher, so one has to assume that a move to Madrid would be even more daunting.“Newcastle aren’t going to get him, he doesn’t want to go up there. Family ties are very important to him and I can believe that he would be reluctant to relocate to the Midlands too,” Jones said.Tottenham would be able to offer Gallagher not only the chance to stay in the Premier League, but the chance to stay in London, and that would seemingly be very important for a player whose family means so much to him.Gallagher to Tottenham could still very much be on the cards this summer.

Manager admits he will sell ‘incredible’ Tottenham target if huge offer arrives

Right now, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to improve Ange Postecoglou’s forward line ahead of the new season.

Yang Min-hyeok will arrive in January and hope to play a significant first team role despite only being 18-years-old, but otherwise Spurs haven’t strengthened.

TBR Football recently shared that Richarlison is keen to leave Tottenham this summer, and in truth, the club are happy to let him go too.

However, any deal that takes the Brazilian to the Saudi Pro League won’t be straightforward given Spurs’ £60m asking price is unlikely to be met.

That being said, Tottenham supporters will probably feel as if the club’s strikeforce needs added firepower regardless of whether Richarlison stays or goes.

Captain Son Heung-min is still very capable in front of goal, as he proved with his pre-season hat-trick on Wednesday.

But he needs better support, explaining why Tottenham are intensifying their interest in Pedro Neto.

And following that news, Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil has just made an interesting admission.
