Frank Lampard on Kai Andrews’ move and Coventry City prospect on his ‘outstanding’ debut against Rangers

Coventry City feature from CoventryLive as Frank Lampard explains loan decision for teenager and how he got on in a baptism of fire against Rangers

Kai Andrews has made an immediate impact in Scotland with an “outstanding” debut in a baptism of fire for Hibernian against Rangers.

The 19-year-old midfielder moved to Easter Road on loan from Coventry City last week and was thrown on unexpectedly by boss David Gray after just 10 minutes, in place of injured Miguel Chaiwa.

The teenager promptly impressed for the Hibees as they fought out a 0-0 draw with the Ibrox side, with the Daily Record describing his contribution as “outstanding”.

Andrews caught the eye for the Sky Blues in the FA Cup game at Stoke last month but has been sent north of the border to get more guaranteed match minutes at a time when Frank Lampard needs to call upon as much experience and quality as he can muster for the club’s push for automatic promotion.
