Newly promoted Bradford City have completed the signing of former Wigan Athletic and Sunderland midfielder Max Power.
The experienced 31-year-old arrives on a two-year deal, following the conclusion of his contract with Danish Superliga side AGF.
Who is New Bradford City Signing Max Power?
Born in Birkenhead, Wirral, Power started his career at local club Tranmere Rovers when he joined them at the age of eight.
He would then go on to make his first professional debut for The Rovers during the 2011/12 season, in a Football League Trophy clash against Port Vale.
In total, Power would go on to make 128 appearances for his boyhood club, before moving to Wigan Athletic, on the 3rd of July 2015.
From his time at the club, he would go on to win two promotions to the Championship in the 2015/16 and 2017/2018 seasons, playing a crucial role over both campaigns
His next move would be further up north, as he signed for Sunderland on loan from Wigan Athletic, which was made permanent on the 2nd of January 2019.
During his time with the Black Cats, he made a big impact with 137 appearances popping up with multiple goals and assists.
Power would then return to Wigan where he would enjoy one of his most memorable seasons yet, gaining another promotion to his CV, with 20 goal contributions to his name in the 2021/22 season.
Since leaving The Tics in the 2023/24 season the 31-year-old has only made 19 appearances, one for Saudia Arabian club Al Qadasiya and 18 for Danish Superliga side AGF.
Max Power’s thoughts on his return to the EFL
When speaking to the Bradford City media team, he said: “I am delighted to get the deal done so early in the summer and excited to get going.
“I was watching how the season finished closely and was as excited as everybody else here when the goal went in in the 96th minute!
What Will Max Power bring to Bradford City?
After 500 games under his belt in the EFL, Power is a midfielder who can bring a wealth of experience into the Graham Alexander’s side.

Spending the majority of his career in League One, the 31-year-old has a great understanding of the division and what’s needed from it.
This is emphasised through his time at Wigan Athletic, clinching top spot on three different occasions.
