SKY CONFIRM: “Nottingham Forest vs Leicester City” Match Not to Be Televised Due to Broadcast Restrictions

Sky Sports has officially confirmed that the upcoming Championship clash between Nottingham Forest and Leicester City will not be televised live in the UK due to existing broadcast restrictions. Despite the high-profile nature of the East Midlands derby, the match falls outside the approved TV schedule under the current domestic broadcasting agreement.

The blackout stems from the traditional 3pm Saturday rule, which prevents matches from being shown live on UK television to encourage stadium attendance at all levels of the football pyramid. While fans had hoped an exception might be made due to the significance of the fixture, Sky has reaffirmed that no such change will occur.

Supporters will still be able to follow the game via live radio, club commentary services, and social media updates. Highlights will be available later in the day on Sky Sports and other official platforms.
