BREAKING: The Indiana Fever have made a significant move by signing veteran forward DeWanna Bonner to a one-year contract, reportedly valued at $12.9 million. Bonner, a six-time WNBA All-Star and two-time champion, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to a young Fever team aiming for championship contention

Bonner’s addition reunites her with head coach Stephanie White, under whom she played during her tenure with the Connecticut Sun. The 37-year-old forward averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game last season, showcasing her consistent performance on both ends of the court.

The Fever’s offseason has been marked by strategic acquisitions, including three-time champion Natasha Howard and sharpshooter Sophie Cunningham. These moves complement the team’s young core, featuring 2023 Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston and 2024 top draft pick Caitlin Clark. The blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talent positions Indiana as a formidable contender in the upcoming season.

General Manager Amber Cox, who previously worked with Bonner in Phoenix and Connecticut, expressed enthusiasm about the team’s direction. “DeWanna’s championship pedigree and leadership are invaluable assets as we strive for excellence,” Cox stated.

With these strategic enhancements, the Fever are poised to make a significant impact in the WNBA, signaling a new era of competitiveness and ambition for the franchise.
