Bristol City vs Burnley Match Postponed

Sky Sports has confirmed that the Championship fixture between Bristol City and Burnley, scheduled for this weekend at Ashton Gate, has been postponed. The decision follows unforeseen circumstances that have rendered the match unplayable.

According to the official statement, heavy rainfall over the past week has caused significant flooding in and around the stadium, raising safety concerns for players, staff, and fans. Despite efforts by ground staff to prepare the pitch, the conditions were deemed unsafe following an inspection by the match officials.

Both clubs have expressed disappointment over the postponement but emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety. Bristol City released a statement: “We regret any inconvenience caused to supporters but appreciate their understanding as we address these challenges.” Burnley echoed similar sentiments, stating they look forward to the rescheduled fixture.

The EFL is working closely with both clubs to determine a new date for the match. Fans with tickets for the original game will have their tickets honored for the rescheduled date. Further updates will be provided in due course.

Supporters are advised to stay tuned to official club channels for the latest information.
