Oliver Sorensen, a Danish midfielder, is the target of the Blades
.
The most recent information comes from writer Alan Nixon, who claims that Sheffield United is in the lead to sign the midfield player. Unless negotiations for a new takeover come to fruition, Nixon says Sorensen would be available for about £5 million, which is above the Blades’ budget.
There hasn’t been any significant development in the long-running talks over a possible acquisition at Bramall Lane. Steve Rosen, a businessman from Ohio, is rumored to have assumed the lead in talks, although Sheffield United’s budget will be constrained until a deal is reached.
The Blades will reportedly be trying to sign Oliver Sorensen if a takeover is successful. Many English teams have lately expressed interest in the 22-year-old; reports indicate that Brighton and Brentford are also interested, but Sheffield United is said to be leading the pack.
For everyone concerned, Sorensen would be an intriguing addition.
Oliver Sorensen is who?
Danish midfielder Oliver Sorensen, 22, is currently playing for FC Midtjylland in the first division of the Danish football league. Since his fifteenth birthday, Sorensen has been registered with the club, and in the past two years, he has truly started to flourish.
As his parent club sought to prepare him for life in the Danish top flight, he spent time on loan in both the Norwegian top flight and the Danish second tier earlier in his career. The current Danish champions, Midtjylland, won the championship last season in large part because to Sorensen.
Although he made 19 starts and helped score eight goals, Sorensen is not just focused on goal contributions. The 22-year-old is incredibly adaptable; he can play out wide, in central midfield, and even drop into defense when necessary.
The Dane possesses excellent tight control of the football at his feet and a lovely left foot. He is incredibly versatile since he can score goals on his own, win possession of the ball, and play precise through balls. He has made eight league appearances so far this season, scoring four goals.
According to Nixon, Sorensen would get about £5 million, which seems fair considering his credentials.
The current season of Sheffield United
Given that they started the season with a 2-point deduction, the Blades will be rather happy with their current record. Without the point deduction, Chris Wilder’s team would be in second place in the standings, now sitting fourth with 22 points.
They have won seven and lost just two of their first twelve league games, drawing the other three. The goal is to immediately return and make amends following the Premier League’s dismal performance last season.
However, with teams like Burnley, Leeds, and Sunderland among many others looking good, that won’t be a simple assignment. Sheffield United would benefit greatly from Sorensen’s arrival since he would fit in well in their midfield, maybe playing next to the gifted Ollie Arblaster.
