Good morning!
Here’s a brief summary of the ideas that have been on my mind since 4.30 a.m. today:
Oh my goodness, it’s far too early to be up. How I would give anything to be in bed again. Rather, I’m traveling to Denver International Airport while driving and listening to some bland rock and roll.
After this quick trip, I need to return to Washington, DC.
“What time is today’s Spurs game?” I pondered in my mind. Looks like it’s still a few hours away. This at least gives me a slim chance of seeing it when I go to the island.
Fortunately, I have some coffee in the car with me. The morning is lengthy. Furthermore, at this time of day, I’m not all that interested in reading a book.
I stroll across the airport. TSA comes first, followed by the main concourse.
“Well, should I have something to eat? Kind of, but what? Even at roughly five in the morning, a McDonald’s breakfast seems a bit heavy. After a fifteen-minute walk, I arrive at an airline’s specialized terminal only to see a CNBC news stand. Bad luck. I take out a Clif Bar. breakfast.
Have lineups been released yet? No?
I leave sometime after 6 a.m. I heard about the new Leon Bridges CD via a buddy. I listen because I have nothing else to do for a few hours.
The flight appears to be operating much ahead of schedule. Makes me want to watch the Spurs game even more. I look at my timepiece. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll get to watch the final 15-20 minutes.
Our destination is Washington, DC. I launch the Premier League app right away. Nice, the match is five minutes underway. I truly have a chance.
Spurs are ahead 2-0 by the time I board the Metro. I’m feeling rather well. The 4.30am wake-up time was worthwhile.
Halftime arrives and departs. I’ve remained on the Metro.
Once I get off, I check the Premier League app once more before heading to lunch. Spurs 2, 2-1. Not very good. I grab my meal. 2-2. Not good
About the seventy-first minute, I switch on the TV. Brighton 3, 2. Even worse.
I’m therefore extremely dissatisfied as I head into the international break after watching a fairly boring 20 minutes of Tottenham football. I make an effort to remind myself that Tottenham hasn’t always wasted a significant lead. It hurts, though.
Unhappy with the amount of points earned. I make an effort to ignore the Top Four. We’re winning the Europa League, after all?
That means we have two weeks until the next Tottenham match.
Start at 7:30 a.m. ET. Forget about resting, Spurs supporters.
