Luton Town, who were relegated from the Premier League the previous season, and Sheffield United, who were at opposite ends of the Championship table, will play one other this Saturday at Bramall Lane.

With a victory on Wednesday, the hosts moved up to third place and continued their league season undefeated, while their guests are now in 20th place after a sad midweek stalemate.

After making a strong start to their season as they return to England’s second division, Sheffield United will look to maintain the only undefeated record in the Championship heading into their second straight match at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

They set out to recover at the first opportunity this season after a miserable Premier League campaign in which they finished in 20th place and 10 points behind Saturday’s visitors. Despite being docked two points, they are currently in third place after managing five wins and three draws from their first eight attempts.

That is in no small part owing to their eye-catching defensive record, with the Blades having only shipped three league goals so far this term, the fewest in the division, while they have now kept clean sheets in each of their past five outings including four victories.

The Blades were unable to secure a goal in a goalless draw at Portsmouth on Saturday, following their victories over Watford, Hull City, and Derby County in September. However, they were able to bounce back the following Wednesday, hosting Swansea City and winning 1-0 for the third time this season when Josh Tymon turned a Harrison Burrows cross into his own net in the first half.

Sheffield United, who now sit third after eight games with 16 points, is only two points behind leaders Sunderland despite their deduction. On Saturday, the team will try to make it nine league games without a loss, six without a conceded goal, and back-to-back wins.

Sheffield United possible starting lineup:
Cooper; Gilchrist, Souttar, Ahmedhodzic, Burrows; Souza, Peck; Rak-Sakyi, O’Hare, Hamer; Moore

Luton Town possible starting lineup:
Kaminski; Burke, McGuinness, Mengi; Moses, Krauss, Nakamba, Doughty; Clark, Adebayo, Brown
