Everton is reportedly closing in on a significant transfer agreement with Aston Villa for winger Leon Bailey, with a deal estimated to be worth around £44 million.

According to Sky Sports reports, the Toffees have identified Bailey as a key target to bolster their attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.

Leon Bailey, a Jamaican international, has been with Aston Villa since 2021, where he arrived from Bayer Leverkusen. Known for his blistering pace, skill on the ball, and ability to score from wide areas, Bailey has established himself as a key player for Villa, although his time at the club has been somewhat disrupted by injuries. Despite these setbacks, Bailey’s quality remains undeniable, and his potential is something that Everton’s manager sees as crucial to lifting the club’s attacking dynamics.

Everton’s struggles in recent seasons have been well documented, with the team often lacking creativity and consistent goal threats from their wingers. Bailey’s acquisition would likely address these issues, giving the Toffees a player capable of both scoring and creating chances for teammates. His versatility to play on either flank would also be a tactical asset.

For Aston Villa, the sale of Bailey would represent a substantial profit on the £30 million fee they initially paid for him. The deal could allow Unai Emery’s side to reinvest the funds into new signings as they look to strengthen their squad further.

While no official announcement has been made, the transfer is reportedly in advanced negotiations, and Everton fans will be eager to see whether Bailey can be the solution to their attacking woes.
