The 2024 Football Content Awards have received nominations for West Ham United in two different categories.
After a record-breaking year in which the Club’s social media outlets grew at a “remarkable” rate, The Hammers have been shortlisted in the Premier League category for Best Football Club.
The Irons have received recognition from the Football Content Awards for having over 20 million followers and subscribers across all social media platforms. They have also had record engagement on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Threads, X, and YouTube.
“With a notable rise in followers and interaction, West Ham United FC has seen impressive growth on social media. With their dynamic match action clips and captivating player stories, their multimedia approach has made them the most engaged Premier League team outside of the “Big 6” online.
Additionally, West Ham has received a nomination for Best Documentary for Ómarsson, the Club’s original film that chronicles the journey of Iceland international midfielder Dagný Brynjarsdóttir, a lifelong Hammer, and the obstacles faced by female athletes considering motherhood.
“Ómarsson of West Ham United narrates the tale of Dagný Brynjarsdóttir, who juggles motherhood with her membership in the Club’s women’s squad. The documentary highlights the efforts teams are doing to help their players and sheds light on the difficulties faced by female athletes when they decide to start families. It also opens up a conversation about motherhood in professional sports.
More than 36,000 nominations were divided into more than 1,200 entries in 34 categories, from which the finalists were chosen. To choose the finalists, who accounted for half of the votes, more than sixty judges examined the submissions.
The remaining 50% is a fan vote, which is open now through a form on the Football Content Awards and Instagram, Threads, Facebook and Twitter. Vote for West Ham United to win these two prestigious awards now!
The winners will be announced at the Football Content Awards, which will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday 21 November.
