It is said that Newcastle United has expanded their youth roster to include a highly-regarded midfield player.

Newcastle has signed West Bromwich Albion’s Jayden Kouossu, an under-15 player, according to The Secret Scout. It happens after Kouossu liked a comment that said, “welcome to NUFC,” and sent a parting message to the Baggies on Monday.

Kouossu posted on Instagram, “Never thought this day would come but I announce with a heavy heart that I have officially left @wba after 8 years at the club.”

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of the coaches, staff members, and exceptional teammates who have supported me on the field throughout the years and pushed me to reach new heights every year.

Kouossu, who was born in Milan and immigrated to England at a young age, reportedly took trials at Chelsea and Fulham before deciding to sign with Newcastle.

In recent years, academy director Steve Harper and his staff have guided several young players into Newcastle’s first team squad as part

of the club’s development strategy; the most well-known name among them is Lewis Miley.

The academy announced changes last week, with Chris Moore moving up to lead coach of the under-18 team and Middlesbrough’s James Marwood taking over as assistant.

In the meantime, Graeme Coulson has moved up a year group to become the senior coach of the under-15s, while Jack Brazil and Ian Skinner oversee the under-16s and under-14s, respectively.

After Ben Dawson left for Leicester City, Neil Winskill and Jack Ross are still serving as interim managers for the under-21 team.
