Dr. Rajpal Brar has stated that West Ham player Edson Alvarez would be closely watched due to the possibility of a re-injury following his ruptured hamstring.

According to the injury expert, another setback would force him to miss months of work, which would be unfortunate for everyone.

Despite having featured in the league twice this season, the 26-year-old sustained the injury while serving on the national team during the Copa America.

Brar, a sports scientist and physical therapy specialist, exclusively spoke with West Ham Zone.

“Judging by his timetable, he was out with a Grade 4 full rupture of his hamstring.

“Hopefully, he has returned without experiencing any new problems, but only time will tell if that is the case.

In the worst situation, he might miss months of time due to another serious reinjury.

The club will be monitoring his situation carefully for the next few weeks despite his return to first-team football.

Edson Alvarez’s minutes need to be monitored carefully by West Ham.
Alvarez played 77 minutes in the 3-1 loss vs Manchester City, having started the game.

He has only played 89 minutes this season, which may be a sign that he isn’t playing at his best.

After the international break, it’s unclear if he’ll be fit to play the entire match, but it’s crucial that the team takes its time getting him back.

In other West Ham news, ExWHUemployee has stated that even with the transfer window closing, the Hammers still want to sign a Champions League champion for free.
