If Anthony Elanga joined Newcastle, West Brom Forest had their sights set on getting a £20 million player from Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest are never too far away from a huge story on deadline day and here they are again with just hours to go. The Reds have had a busy window themselves once again and have reinforced the team for Nuno Santo over the summer.

At the City Ground, several players have been connected, both in and out, on deadline day, as was to be expected.

Naturally, the newest rumour circulating this evening is that Newcastle United is reportedly interested in Anthony Elanga.

Though reports of Elanga to Newcastle were swiftly refuted, it appears the Reds can leave this one behind them.

But in case they lost Elanga, Forest had an alternative plan in the shape of an Arsenal exile, according to TeamTalk.

Nottingham Forest is interested in Reiss Nelson of West Brom.
As per the TeamTalk report, Forest was ready to act swiftly in the event that Elanga had gone to Newcastle and was focusing on Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson.

Nelson is anticipated to stay at Arsenal following the sale of Emile Smith Rowe and the loan of Fabio Vieira.

Even so, given the £20 million asking price, Forest might have given Arsenal pause late in the day. It’s been reported that Forest is a huge fan of Nelson, and if Elanga’s move to the Magpies had gone through, they would have been prepared to challenge the Gunners. Of course, with Nelson’s move to Forest now looking more like a non-story, you never know on deadline day. Nelson is destined for yet another disappointing season, and if he is to play regularly, one of Arsenal’s big names would have to sustain an injury

.

Without Nottingham Forest’s frenzy of action, it wouldn’t be deadline day.

At the conclusion of the transfer window, Forest is always active, and today is no exception.

James Ward-Prowse and Morato are expected at the City Ground soon, and Fabrizio Romano says another player may follow suit.

Speaking on his livestream on deadline day, Romano asserted that Forest and Lyon were almost at an understanding about the signing of Ernest Nuamah.

Nuamah and Everton were historically connected.

Ernest Nuamah Romano, who is close to joining Nottingham Forest, revealed what he knows about Nuamah.

Ernest Nuamah is in the process of signing a contract with Nottingham Forest. Lyon’s winger. He was on Everton’s wanted list, and Fulham is still on it. Forest and Lyon are now on the verge of an agreement. Lyon and Nottingham Forest are working on it, but let’s wait and see what happens with that one since an agreement with the player hasn’t been made for West Brom,” Romano stated.

The fact that the £15 million player is being connected to Forest at the same time that Newcastle is attempting to sign Anthony Elanga may not be coincidental.

Newcastle is in for Elanga, and Nuamah has a player profile that is extremely similar.

Nuamah, a quick left-footer who operates off the right wing, would take Elanga’s spot on a level playing field.

Although Elanga isn’t currently scheduled to travel to Newcastle, it’s a remarkable coincidence that Forest is scheduled to travel to Nuamah at the same time as these rumors about Elanga.

As usual, Newcastle United’s transfer window may come to an explosive close, and in the upcoming hours, there may be a lot of big movements into and out of the City Ground.
