Arsenal and Crystal Palace are allegedly negotiating over a trade for Eddie Nketiah, the former forward for Leeds United.
The England-captained marksman has been connected to a number of teams this season, including as Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Leicester City. It was recently announced that Nottingham Forest and the 25-year-old had reached an agreement.
But according to Sky Sports, the player and the club were unable to come to an agreement. They now claim that negotiations are taking place between Arsenal and Palace, with the Eagles hoping to bolster their front line with Nketiah. It is said that talks are about a contract worth about £30 million, with add-ons dependent on how well the forward performs. Although they are not anticipated to be an issue, personal terms are also reported to be a topic of conversation.
Nketiah hasn’t been able to elevate his position as an auxiliary member of the Arsenal team. Despite his moments in the side, he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a consistent long-term starter.
Despite being on Arsenal’s books for his whole professional career, he was loaned to Leeds in 2019. Despite showing promise, Nketiah was unable to unseat Patrick Bamford as Marcelo Bielsa’s favored number nine.
Midway through his season-long loan, Arsenal called up the forward, terminating his time there after 19 matches and five goals. Nketiah is rumored to be eager for first-team action, which Palace can probably provide.
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery won’t look back on his time at Arsenal too fondly.
The Spaniard replaced Arsene Wenger at the Emirates in 2018, and he led the Gunners to the Europa League final in his very first season.
However, Emery’s 18-month tenure at Arsenal came to an end when the team opted to fire him following a poor start to his second campaign.
By defeating Arsenal in the previous season and denying them the Premier League title, Emery exacted his retribution.
According to CaughtOffside, the manager of Villa wants to sign a player from Mikel Arteta this summer.
Kieran Tierney from Arsenal is being pursued by Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
Kieran Tierney’s tenure at Arsenal may terminate this summer.
In 2019, under Emery’s leadership, the Scot became a member of the team. After sustaining an injury upon arrival, it took him some time to fully recover, but after he made his Emirates debut, he quickly won over the fans.
But throughout the years, injuries have been particularly brutal to Tierney. Because of this, he was deemed unnecessary at Arsenal and was sent on loan to Real Sociedad for the 2023–2024 season.
