Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, a Turkish journalist, has reported on the prospect of Leicester City signing the former Palace player. He expanded on David Ornstein’s assertion that Zaha is considering relocating to Leicester in addition to covering it.
According to the journalist, Galatasaray informed Leicester that although the Foxes would need to pay a loan fee for Zaha, the Turkish team is willing to cover the full salary of the 31-year-old.
This would theoretically enable Leicester have a player for whom they do not pay any salary at all, while also assisting Galatasaray in freeing up some cash in the current transfer window.
“Talks are still going on,” the Turkish journalist said.
It’s important to remember that the same reporter said on Friday night that Zaha and Crystal Palace had reached a personal terms agreement and that the Eagles and Galatasaray were nearing an agreement.
Perhaps Leicester City is being used as leverage to get Palace to make a slightly larger payment.Although the summer transfer window has already been somewhat busy for Crystal Palace, work is still ongoing.
