Brighton’s options for the remaining summer transfer window are forecast by Football Manager 2024.

As Brighton & Hove Albion finalize their preparations for their inaugural season under new head coach Fabian Hurzeler, it’s another fresh start.

The former St. Pauli manager was appointed Roberto Di Zerbi’s successor earlier this summer, and he hasn’t spent any time in making adjustments to the team the Italian left behind. Ibrahim Osman, a young player from Nordsjaelland, Feyenoord midfielder Mats Wieffer, and Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh are the new additions. Midfielders Pascal Gross and Adam Lallana have left the team to pursue new opportunities.Hurzeler’s team is probably going to be expanded with less than three weeks left in the transfer window as the German coach hopes to build on a successful debut season leading the Seagulls. We launched Football Manager 2024 to see what incomings and outgoings the most popular managerial simulation in the world predicts would happen at the Amex Stadium in order to get an idea of how the rest of the window might unfold.Goalkeepers
For the Seagulls goalkeeping unit, it was one in, one out. First, Bart Verbruggen was let go in the last week of the transfer season after receiving a £12 million offer from Al-Etiffaq, a Saudi Pro League team. However, the real lure may have been an offer of an eye-watering £150,000 per week in salary. After spending £4 million to acquire Lyon’s Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri, the Seagulls acted swiftly to locate a successor.Hurzeler has Steele, Rushworth, and Perri as his goalie options.

defendersJoel Veltman left the Seagulls defense to join Lille for a fee of £2 million, and Hurzeler emerged victorious in the competition to sign Sporting CP’s highly-regarded center-back Ousmane Diomande for a fee of £46 million. The gifted defender was coveted by several teams, including Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid, but he will begin the upcoming campaign at the Amex Stadium—virtually, that is! Javi Galan, a full-back, also joined from Atletico Madrid.

Hurzeler’s defensive alternatives include Barco, Lamptey, Diomande, Galan, Webster, Van Hecke, Igor, Dunk, and Estupinan.

midfield players
The Seagulls’ midfield saw no new faces, but there were two departures: Jakub Moder was granted permission to move to Lens for £6 million, while Mahmoud Dahoud signed a loan to Union Berlin. This was in addition to Pascal Gross and Adam Lallana’s real-life departures, who joined Southampton and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.

The midfield choices for Hurzeler include Wieffer, Baleba, Gilmour, Hinshelwood, Yalcouye, and Milner.

Moving ForwardThere were now several significant sales and significant adjustments at the top of the pitch. The greatest transaction was Evan Ferguson’s £65 million arrival to Chelsea, although add-ons could push the price past £80 million. Ferguson is a star from the Republic of Ireland. In other news, Jeremy Sarmiento signed a £6 million contract to join Everton, Deniz Undav completed a £13 million move to Ajax, and the Seagulls were lured into selling Julio Enciso by Spurs’ £29 million offer. Facundo Buonanotte left as well, spending £6 million to join Sporting. Richarlison, a £21 million acquisition from Spurs, and Reiss Nelson, an Arsenal academy product, were the new additions. Nelson cost £7 million.Hurzeler has Mitoma, Adingra, March, Minteh, Pedro, Welbeck, Nelson, and Richarlison as his forward options.
