Jhon Duran: Duo pull out of Aston Villa transfer race after terms agreed
Aston Villa remain open to offers for wantaway striker Jhon Duran with three weeks of the summer window remaining, sources have told Football Insider.
Duran, 20, has attracted bids from Chelsea and West Ham so far in the off-season and has been close to joining both clubs at various stages.
The forward has even admitted he hopes “something concrete happens” with regards to a move away from Aston Villa.
He had even agreed personal terms with the east London club before the deal collapsed.
But Chelsea and West Ham have now pulled out of the race, with the latter ending their search for a new striker after agreeing to sign Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.
The Blues’ interest has also evaporated as they negotiate a potential deal to bring Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.
Villa are still keen to sell Duran but sources say his “options are now limited” after breakdowns in negotiations.

The club have also reportedly been forced to launch an investigation into Duran after he crossed his arms to make an ‘Irons’ gesture on social media amid negotiations with West Ham.
He made 37 appearances across all competitions for Unai Emery’s side in the 2023-24 campaign, scoring eight goals.
The 20-year-old is yet to return to pre-season training for the Midlands giants after his involvement at Copa America with Colombia.
