Nottingham Forest’s busy £157 million transfer window is expected to include agreements with Leeds,

Following the completion of spectacular transactions for players like Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson, Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has already had a successful summer transfer window.Additionally, there have been a number of departures as the former head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers reduced their roster by letting Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala join Lyon, Remo Freuler move to Bologna, and goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos sign with Newcastle, a Premier League competitor. Nuno wants to keep adding his personal touch to his team, therefore more transactions are in the works. Strong ties have been made with players like Paraguayan international winger Ramon Sosa and England and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
However, we were curious about how Nuno and Forest might fare in the remaining summer transfer window. To find out, we launched Football Manager 2024, made changes to the Forest team, and then watched as the most well-liked managerial simulation in the world took place at the City Ground for the next month.
Goalkeepers
The only changes from last season were the addition of Brazilian goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Corinthians and the departure of Odysseas Vlachodimos from Forest to Premier League rival Newcastle United. This was due to the fact that the virtual Nuno’s goalkeeping options remained unchanged.
Turner, Sels, and Miguel are Nuno’s alternatives for the goalie.There have been a few defensive line moves as of late, with Chelsea’s Levi Colwill arguably the most well-known addition. Colwill signed a £27 million contract in the closing hours of the transfer window. He is by no means the only new face to arrive after Nuno paid a total of £20 million to sign teenage Leon King of Rangers and Uruguayan international Gaston Alvarez of Getafe. Many players left the backline, including Ola Aina, who left for Rennes in a £6 million deal, and Andrew Omobamidele, who signed a £1 million contract to join Ipswich Town.
Murillo, Milenkovic, Worrall, Boly, Toffolo, Richards, Williams, King, Alvarez, and Colwill are Nuno’s defensive alternatives.
midfield players
Nuno chose to stick with his current midfield, so there were no new midfield additions during the virtual transfer window. However, the Forest manager did permit Josh Bowler and Lewis O’Brien to sign season-long loan agreements with Leeds United and Middlesbrough, and Jonjo Shelvey left the MLS after agreeing to a £4 million move to Inter Miami.
Nuno has Sangare, Danilo, Anderson, Yates, Gibbs-White, and Dominguez as his midfield options.The £3 million deal of Chris Wood to Celtic, the departure of Emmanuel Dennis to Rangers on the other side of the Glasgow split, and the strange move of Hwang Ui-Jo to Austria Vienna represented somewhat of a reshuffle in Nuno’s offensive options. To bolster the attacking lines, Nuno brought in three new players: he paid £5 million to get Neal Maupay from Everton, returned to Celtic to sign Japan international Daizen Maeda, and then paid £7 million to sign Sergei Pinyaev, a winger for Lokomotiv Moscow.
Hudson-Odoi, Elanga, Awoniyi, Maupay, Pinyaev, and Maeda are Nuno’s forward options.
