Former England international Carlton Palmer has suggested Leeds United could be the perfect fit for Brahima Diarra.
attacking midfielder is available on a free transfer, having left Huddersfield Town earlier this summer following the expiry of his contract.
The Whites, Burnley, Hull City and Leicester City are all said to be interested in Diarra’s services, according to French outlet Foot Mercarto. Daniel Farke’s side are on the lookout for another midfielder as they aim to win the Championship title.
Diarra, who can operate in a number of different roles in midfield, made 46 appearances across all competitions for the Terriers. The 21-year-old is currently away on international duty at the Olympics with Mali’s U23 side. He has started in their opening two matches at the Paris Games and is expected to make a decision his next move after the competition
Clubs in France and Belgium are also thought to be keeping a close eye on Diarra’s situation. “It’s thought that the midfielder will decide his destination when the tournament comes to an end,” ex-United midfielder Palmer told Football League World. “It’s a difficult one. Whatever happens, he will want to be playing regular football.
“I know Premier League clubs are coming in, but you don’t want to be going to a club like Leicester, where you’re going to be sat on the bench and, eventually, in the January transfer window, you’re going to go out on loan. So you want to go to a club where you can do well.
