West Ham midfielder has undertaken a scan on an injury he sustained with Mexico, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

The Hammers enforcer in the middle of the park was seen distressed when leaving the pitch as his home nation took on Jamaica in the Copa America on Tuesday night.

It was a cruel blow to the player, who is also Mexico’s captain, as he is seen as a key figure as their pursuit for glory this summer, following what was an excellent first season in England playing for West Ham – having signed from Ajax last summer.

There has been a lot of concern from both Mexico and West Ham at the extent of the injury, and its been reported by our club insider and Podcast co-host that the scan to determine the seriousness of the issue has now been undertaken.

“It is thought that Edson Alvarez has got the results back on his scans,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “It appears he will be out for about 5-6 weeks with what is likely to be a grade 2 hamstring tear.

“This hasn’t been fully confirmed by the club yet however.”

Ex will keep fans up to date on the situation as it develops on Patreon.
