Leicester City agree swap deal with Premier League side as star player set to depart

Leicester City will be replacing their star player with a Polish international midfielder in a swap deal.

The Foxes have cracked on behind the scenes following the appointment of Steve Cooper, who was brought in to replace Enzo Maresca who has since departed for Chelsea.

Cooper has worked quickly in bringing in a set-piece coach from Norwich City, as well as already looking to add to his ranks, with a reported interest in Belgian international Arthur Theate.

However, Leicester City are currently amid an ongoing an appeal for breaching Premier League spending rules and are in danger of another breach prior to the PSR deadline on June 30th.

Leicester City and Brighton have reportedly agreed on a swap deal for Dewsbury-Hall and Polish midfielder Jakub Moder, per Fabrizio Romano.

Everton are also still reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old, however Everton looks the likely suitor with medicals already being booked for the Englishman.

Following a return to football from a cruciate ligament injury, Moder has struggled to cement his place in the Brighton side, being handed just six league starts this season.

Will Jakub Moder replicate the talents of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at Leicester City

Moder was on the receiving end of a long-term injury that saw him sidelined for a significant 575 days and miss the entirety of the 2022/23 season.

The midfielder has slowly returned to first team football, however he proved to be a real talent prior to his injury troubles.

He was a crucial part of Brighton’s 2021/22 squad as they finished just one place behind Leicester in 9th.

He was utilised predominantly in midfield for the Seagulls, however was also used on either wing and made a contribution at full-back.

His time with Lech Poznan also showcased his goalscoring talents from midfield, scoring nine in 40 games over two seasons before achieving a Premier League move.

There is certainly a player in Moder, who at his fittest could help Leicester City hit their targets, however very few would be able to replicate the phenomenal campaign that Dewsbury-Hall endured. Leicester will need extra firepower in addition to Moder if they are to achieve the successes of last season.
