New Leicester manager Steve Cooper to wait on major decision seeing Stoke City midfielder linked

New Leicester manager Steve Cooper will early next week find out if Wilfred Ndidi is staying or not. Other options are at this time under consideration for the Nigerian International.

Everton and Galatasaray are both linked and said to have made offers to the player that will become a free agent on the 1st of July.

Leicester are of course monitoring the transfer market for new recruits and even if Wilfred Ndidi is to stay, at least one, maybe two new midfielders could he brought in to fill gaps after Yunus Akgun, Marc Albrighton and Dennis Praet.

James McAtee from Man City could be an ideal addition, last season being on loan at Sheffield United. A new loan period could be possible for the England U.21 international.

The 21 year old can operate on the flank and also in an attacking midfield position. We do believe he looks one ideal man to bring in. Not a surprise to see him linked and hopefully one still top of the list after the Steve Cooper manager appointment.

Stoke City tankard sparks bidding war as it goes for 10 times estimate at auction

Terry Conroy’s League Cup winner’s tankard from 1972 has fetched an incredible price at auction

The white-metal tankard presented to Wembley goal scorer Terry Conroy after Stoke City won the League Cup in 1972 has fetched a remarkable £6,000 at auction.

The 13cm-tall tankard had a guide price of £600 to £800 when it was put under the hammer at Graham Budd Auctions’ sports and Olympics memorabilia special this week. It was described as a special auction for Stoke supporters as unique lots had been put up for sale by Sir Stanley Matthews’ family and diehard fan and memorabilia collector Nick Hancock. And the bidding just kept going up, fetching 10 times its estimate.

John Mahoney’s red and white match-worn shirt from the same day had a closing bid of £2,000, the ceiling of its guide price, while John Marsh’s mud-stained white change shirt from a 1972 FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal fetched £1,300. That had a guide price of £800 to £1,200.
