Everton make offer to sign Star man as Sunderland exit news emerge

Everton are one of several clubs to have made an offer to Clark, according to Santi Aouna.

The Foot Mercato journalist reported via X (20 June) that the Toffees, as well as French clubs Lyon and Olympique de Marseille, have all made offers to the 27-year-old.

In addition, AS Monaco are also said to be interested in a move for the midfielder.

Clark is out of contract with Sunderland at the end of the month, with the sun light keen to extend his stay at the light Stadium.

Will Everton sign Clark as his Sunderland deal expires?

It appears that despite the club’s financial troubles, Everton are looking to make some moves in the market.

While player sales have been the main talking point at Goodison Park, the past few days have seen the Toffees suddenly go on the offensive in the transfer window.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (20 June), Sean Dyche’s side have agreed a £9million fee with Aston Villa for Tim Iroegbunam.

The 20-year-old is set to undergo his medical at Goodison Park.

In addition, it appears as if a deal for Jack Harrison to rejoin the club on another season-long loan is also close to completion.

And a move for Clark could represent yet another shrewd bit of business from the Toffees.

It is pretty obvious to supporters that they don’t have plenty of cash to splash this summer, but that isn’t stopping them from making some clever moves.

Clark is an experienced Premier League player and bringing him in for free could prove to be a bit of a coup.

In other Everton news, the club are set for a “very strong” financial boost after a takeover update at Goodison Park.
