Ipswich town name price for Star player as Everton look to conclude transfer

Chelsea have set a £35million price tag on Armando Broja, with Everton pushing to seal a deal for the forward, according to talkSPORT.

The report on 9 June states that the Toffees are “in discussions” over a move worth closer to £30m, with the Blues holding out for a slightly higher sum.

Broja is also reportedly of interest to a number of other clubs, including Wolves, Crystal Palace, AC Milan, Bologna and Monaco.

Would Armando Broja be a good signing for Everton?

After successful loan spells at Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem and then Southampton in the Premier League, Broja had captured plenty of attention.

The young striker netted 10 Eredivisie goals in 2020/21 before scoring six times in the English top flight for the Saints the following season.

However, a cruciate ligament injury saw him miss the majority of the 2022/23 campaign, while he struggled for minutes as he returned to match fitness in 2023/24 before joining Fulham, where was limited to the role of a substitute.

Broja is still just 22, however, and will hope to kick on and revive his career next term after finally shaking off his injury woes.

His price tag does make his signing something of a risk, however – especially for Everton, who cannot afford to be frivolous with their spending in the transfer market given their significant debt and financial issues.

If the Toffees are priced out of a move, they may be better served by turning their attentions elsewhere and seeking out a cheaper alternative.

In other Everton news, a formal seven-figure takeover bid has been made for the club.
