SKY CONFIRM: Everton have Struck an agreement With RB Leipzig For…

The Everton midfielder looks likely to exit this summer and he holds admirers across Europe.

RB Leipzig are eyeing a move for Everton’s Amadou Onana this summer after reports in Germany confirmed their list of targets.

Everton are likely to have to sell one of their key assets such as Onana this summer to raise funds and with attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, it looks like a deal that is increasingly likely. Plus, he is set to start for Belgium at the European Championships in Germany which is a chance for him to post himself in the shop window, as they say, which could help seal a move.

According to BILD’s head football reporter Christian Falk, RB Leipzig have shortlisted a number of targets across positions that includes Xavi Simons, Jonathan Tah, Frenkie de Jong, Chris Führich, Joao Palhinha or Amadou Onana – as confirmed on X. Onana has been listed at around £50m, as per some reports and his age, profile and defensive positioning is what Bayern have been looking at for some time.

The German club were inches away from signing Palhinha last summer and the 28-year-old could well be a target for the here and now as he is currently at his peak. Plus, he will be a star for Portugal in Germany and which could see more interest drummed up for him. However, Onana could also fit the mould as he registered the best defensive duel rate success in Europe last season.

He also recently spoke to the Belgium media to outline his goals for his career, claiming he is ready for a higher level. He said: “That happens almost automatically. At previous tournaments you have seen that the players who did well moved up to the top clubs. That’s something I strive for. I feel like presenting myself to the European top and showing what I have to offer. This European Championship is a stage.”

He also claimed he is ready to make a big impact for his country on the big stage. He added: “I’m always ready for these kinds of big tournaments. These are the matches that every football player wants to play. There are players who have played fifty games this season, who have also played in the Champions League, Europa League or Conference League. With Everton we didn’t have European football. That might be a small advantage for me.”
