Fulham and Sunderland set sights on Luton Town man

Luton Town defender Teden Mengi is on the radar of Fulham, Sunderland and Bayer Leverkusen, as detailed in a report by The Mirror.

Luton Town are expected to face a battle to keep hold of the centre-back this summer following their relegation from the Premier League. He joined the Hatters last year following their promotion from the Championship.

Mengi, 22, impressed for the Bedfordshire outfit in the last campaign and is one of their most prized assets now. He caught the eye despite the fact they ended up in the bottom three along with Burnley and Sheffield United.

In this latest update regarding his future by The Mirror, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Leverkusen are all believed to be admirers ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The latter have made the headlines over recent times after winning the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal double under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.

Luton Town man eyed by Fulham and Sunderland

Mengi remains under contract at Luton Town for next term so they are under no pressure to cash in on him.

He has proved to be a shrewd signing by the Hatters and has adapted well to life at Kenilworth Road.

The Mancunian proved he is capable of playing at the top level and could be thrown a lifeline by either Fulham or Sunderland.

He started his career at Manchester United and rose up through the academy ranks of the North West giants.

Mengi was a regular for the Red Devils at various different youth levels before going on to play twice for their first-team.

The ex-England youth international had loan spells away in the Football League at Derby County and Birmingham City to get some experience under his belt.

He then left Old Trafford permanently last year and has since made Luton Town his home.
