Every Premier League and Championship free agent for Stoke City and Leicester City to consider so far this summer

Clubs across the top two divisions have been confirming retained lists and which players will be looking for new clubs

The free agent is being flooded by clubs in the Premier League and Championship while managers and recruitment chiefs scour the catalogue looking for bargains, gambles and gems that might have slipped through the net.

Stoke City have already made their first signing of the summer, triggering a relegation release clause to bring in goalkeeper Viktor Johansson, and although the Financial Fair Play ropes aren’t quite as tight as they have been in previous years, they will have to make sure their budget is used as effectively as possible.

Head coach Steven Schumacher and sporting director Jon Walters are tasked with adding balance and quality to the first team squad and are expected to be in the market for a striker or two and a centre-back, as well as be on the look out for other areas and opportunities when they can make a difference.

There are a number of clubs in the Premier League yet to confirm their retained lists following the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign, while Cardiff City and Leeds United are yet to publish theirs in the Championship, but here are the bulk of the current group of players who are without a contract beyond June 30.
