Stockport County are plotting a move for Stoke City winger Jayden Fevrier, according to reporter Pete O’Rourke on X.

Stockport County are looking to lure the Championship ace to Edgeley Park this summer as they prepare for life in League One. Dave Challinor’s side won the fourth tier title this past season and have been promoted along with Wrexham, Mansfield Town and Crawley Town.

Fevrier, 21, helped Stoke City secure their Football League status under Danny Cowley. He is under contract with the Essex club until June 2025 meaning that they are under no pressure to cash in on him just yet and can wait for the right offer to come in.

As per journalist O’Rourke on X, the Hatters are ‘lining’ up a move for him in the upcoming transfer window. They are looking to bolster their ranks over the next couple of months and could be busy.

The fact that a few players have left means space and funds have been freed up to bring in other reinforcements.

The Hatters are looking to bring in younger players and develop them over the next few years.

Fevrier fits the bill for Challinor’s side and is an exciting young talent who has already played a decent amount of games so far in his career.

Colchester United snapped him up in 2022 and he has since become a key player for them. He has made 60 appearances for the U’s in all competitions and has found the net on four occasions.

The Londoner started out at West Ham and rose up through the academy ranks of the Premier League club.

He was a regular for the Hammers at various different youth levels and was handed a professional deal at the London Stadium back in 2021. However, he was released 12 months later.

What next for Stockport County target?

Fevrier’s decision to drop down a few leagues and move to the Colchester Community Stadium has worked out well for him.

It has enabled him to get regular game time under his belt and boost his confidence after his exit from West Ham.

Stockport County could now hand him the chance to be part of an exciting project as
