Everton takeover ‘fear’ emerges as 777 Partners problem mooted at Goodison Park

The Esk has explained that Everton could be handed a new problem if, as he expects, 777 Partners are unable to complete their takeover at Goodison Park.

It was said that the path from Bill Kenwright to Farhad Moshiri to Josh Wander is a downward spiral, seeing the leadership of the club gradually become worse and less trustworthy as time ticks by.

However, it was also said that if 777 fail to complete their takeover as they don’t appear to be in a good position to do so, the club would be faced with different problems.

Speaking via his Talking The Blues podcast, The Esk explained: “My big fear is that we go from Bill Kenwright to Fahad Moshiri to Josh Wander, and that’s a path that’s only heading in one direction.

“Now, I don’t think, thankfully, we’ll get to the Josh Wander-777 bit of it because I don’t think they will ever be in the position to buy the football club. But that doesn’t mean that we’re out of the woods. It just means we’ve got a different problem.”

The takeover appeared closer than ever when an extension to the loan repayment deadline was agreed upon with MSP Capital, but as we edge nearer to the new deadline, the lack of concrete news will only spark more concern.

The group’s financial strength has been the subject of repeated questioning since the takeover talks began, with the sources of their funding initially unclear before later updates from the US revealed the instability of their backing.

More recently, fans of French third-division club Red Star protested against 777’s ownership despite their position at the top of the league as they labelled the owners “toxic” and claimed their problems could no longer be ignored.
