The Whites boss has one key player back in his squad for Tuesday night’s clash with Swansea City

Daniel Farke has confirmed Daniel James will return to his Leeds United squad for Tuesday night’s Championship clash with Swansea City.

The Welsh international has been missing since the 1-0 victory over Norwich City in January after picking up a hip problem. However, the he will return to the squad to face his former club Swansea.

Sam Byram, however, has been ruled out after picking up a muscle injury which Farke hopes isn’t too serious. James’ return could give Farke a potential headache, with Willy Gnonto performing well in his absence, and Crysencio Summerville continuing to shine.

“Dan James is back in team training and is available,” Farke said today. “It’s definitely good news to have Daniel back. It’s good to have another really good option. He’s a key player.

Sam Byram has reported some minor muscle injury after the last game. He will definitely miss this game. We will wait for the scan. He will definitely not be involved. It is not his hamstring where he was injured. It is the other leg. We are quite hopeful he is back at the weekend.”

Tuesday night’s game at Swansea continues a busy period for Leeds following their 3-0 win over Rotherham United on Saturday. The Whites travel to Plymouth for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off just over a week since their FA Cup replay win at Home Park, before a home clash with league leaders Leicester City on Friday, February 23.
