Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be interested in signing Fenerbago winger Bright Osaje-Samuel. With the January window now open, Leeds are likely to be looking to bring in new players and strengthen their squad. With Willy Gnatone’s future in doubt and speculation surrounding Premier League star Crysania Summerville, it is likely that a new signing could be on the agenda this month.

One of the names that have cropped up over the past few weeks is that of a Nigerian international who has recently been linked with a potential return to the Championship.

Oswesi-Samuel, 26, made the switch to Turkey from Blackpool in 2021, having previously spent time on loan at Queens Park Rangers and Fulham.

But Daniel Farke’s side will now have fresh competition for his signature as Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both said to be interested in the Nigerian, according to Gazetesi.

Despite playing at the top of the second tier, and hoping to secure a place in next season’s Premier League, there’s no guarantee of success, so a move to a well-established top flight side such as Wolves or Crystal Palace could prove to be a game-changer for him in terms of where he sees himself in the future.

He’d certainly add more competition to the ranks at Elland Road if he signs for the Whites, but if Summerville sticks around beyond the transfer window, they’ll still have one of the best front-fours in the division.

Bringing in a player of his calibre, or a full-back in general, shouldn’t be a priority right now.
