Welcome to all the news coming out of Elland Road, as Leeds United gear up for what could prove to be a significant January January transfer window.

Leeds United kicked off the new year with a bang, thrashing Birmingham City 4-0 on New Year’s Day. After two losses in a row at the turn of the year, the Whites will be hoping to use this win as a turning point.

Currently in fourth place in the Championship, Daniel Farke’s side will be aiming to push their way into the top two of the table in the coming months before the real action kicks off.

As the January window kicks off, we bring you all the news from Elland road today.

Koch is on loan at Frankfurt until the end of the season after leaving Elland Road in the wake of the club’s Premier League relegation.

He has impressed on his return to Germany and is a free transfer target this summer.

According to the report, Frankfurt are ready to offer a three-year contract to seal the deal, with talks expected to take place shortly.

Paul Merson highlights the problem

Merson says Leeds must find a way to play with the same kind of confidence they do at home when travelling.

The Whites have now gone three games without a win away from home, having lost to promotion rivals Sunderland and Preston North End, as well as West Bromwich. They are unbeaten on home ground this season, though, and Elland Road has proven to be a fortress for the club, as evidenced by their 3-0 win over Birmingham City on New Year’s Day

.

“I think it’s similar to Newcastle in the Premier league,” Merson said. “It’s different playing there, but when I watch Leeds at home and they’re playing, they’re like Newcastle. They’re playing at a high pace for 20 minutes, trying to get ahead. I don’t think that’s how they play away from home, and I think that’s what they need to do. They need to play like they’re playing at home, rather than playing at a steady pace. When you have a crowd like this behind you, it’s easy to say “no,” but it’s likely “yes.” If they can’t change that away form, they’re not going to automatically go up and then win the lottery.
