Edson Alvarez ran the show last night against Freiburg but whether he does or not against Wolves

depends an an injury worry. Having only just recovered from a nasty spell of illness the Mexican central defender took a knock which saw him leave the second half action .

And David Moyes will probably make a decision today on his involvement when he has checked with the club’s medical staff on his situation. Having scored his first Hammers goal and set up Mohammad Kudus’ strike Edson showed just how important he is to the team at his best. Should he miss the Wolves game there would be a cause to worry but hopefully all will be well.

Moyes has been very impressed with the former Ajax man saying that he has made a big impression very quickly and helped us get some big results.. He’s helped us to get some big results.

Speaking at the Wolves pre-match presser he said: “He’s settled in quickly. I think he’s still getting used to the Premier League, the intensity and the number of games.

Players from abroad, for example, aren’t always used to playing at this time of the year. But he’s doing very well and settled in well.

” Edson got a knock on his hip so we need to see how he is.  We need to assess the players when we see them later today.”

And on the Wolves game itself Moyes added: “Gary O’Neil has done a great job, and did a good job at Bournemouth as well. Young coaches need these opportunities and I think he’s doing a really good job. He’s got Wolves looking very steady but we’ve got our job to do.”
