Junior Firpo wages: How much is Leeds United man earning amid latest injury frustration?

Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo is in the middle of another injury setback under Daniel Farke this season, having only just got back to fitness recently in the Championship.

Junior Firpo was someone fans thought could have been a decent option for the club in the Championship this season, but we’re yet to really see what he could offer.

That’s because a knee ligament injury in pre-season scuppered his start to 23/24, while his return to fitness was only temporary as a recent hamstring injury ruled him out until around Christmas.

It’s the latest in a long line of problems stopping the left-back from finding his best form at Elland Road, the sort of form that earned him a dream move to Barcelona back in 2019.

Here, we look at how much the defender is earning at Leeds as he remains a constant presence in the treatment room at Thorp Arch this season…

How much did Leeds pay for him from Barcelona?

Firpo was one of only a few signings made in the summer of 2021 as Leeds failed to build on their stunning first season in the Premier League, coming from Barcelona after Gjanni Alioski’s exit.

He joined Leeds for a reported fee of £13million from the La Liga giants, signing a four-year contract to keep him in West Yorkshire until 2025.

What are his wages?

According to Capology, Firpo’s wage comes in at £60,000-per-week, but this likely doesn’t take into account his 50-60% wage cut that will have come following relegation – per The Athletic.

Such a cut would see Firpo’s wage slashed to £24,000-30,000 weekly, meaning he would earn a minimum of £1.25million a year.
