Leeds United headlines as Daniel Farke sends strong January transfer message

All the latest Leeds United news as the Whites turn their attentions to Sunderland

Here are the latest Leeds United headlines for Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Daniel Farke says Leeds United have not even talked about the possibility of any of their top players leaving the club in the January transfer window. The Whites’ excellent form may attract one of two Premier League or European clubs sniffing for their stars, but Farke insists it’s not on the agenda

“No [it has not been discussed with the board], we don’t have to talk about this topic because everyone in this club knows we are ambitious and want to be successful and we want to keep our best players,” he said. “There is no temptation, anyhow, to give some of our key players to other clubs.

“Why should we do this? Everyone is aware of the situation. We (club officials) don’t even have to talk about it.”

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has hailed the contribition of Daniel James and Crysencio Summerville as the Whites continue to perform impressively.

The pair scored the decisive goals against Blackburn as Leeds registered another important win. The team are enjoying a seven-game unbeaten run, spearheaded by a prolific attack, which also included Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter on Saturday.

Addressing the form of his two goal scorers, Farke said: “This is a topic we have worked a lot on because one of the points everyone always criticised Daniel James, [saying] he’s not scoring enough, [Crysencio] Summerville – both fantastic players but where are the end products? Especially this term, they are delivering. They were really clinical and ice-cold finishes today and they are on a good path.

“They’ve worked hard on it on the training pitch to bring themselves into such good shape but we have to keep working because I think we can even improve our efficiency rate up front but today both were really clinical. I’m happy with this.”
