Leeds United transfer rumours as Rasmus Kristensen reveals ‘one reason’ for agreeing Roma loan

All of the latest Leeds United transfer rumours including reports on AS Roma loanee Rasmus Kristensen and Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean

Rasmus Kristensen was one of a host of first-team stars to leave Elland Road this summer in the wake of relegation. The Denmark international joined AS Roma on a season-long loan, but missed out on the Serie A’s squad list for the Europa League.

Despite this setback, Kristensen has already made seven appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side. The full-back admits it was the opportunity to work with the ‘Special One’ which led him to move to the Italian capital.

He told TV Sport 2: “He’s a fantastic coach. That’s one reason why I chose to go to Rome. He’s one of the greatest coaches in history who has won everything there is to win. And he has that aura too.

“For me, he’s a coach who is at the very top. So, of course, I wanted to try to work with him. So far, it has been totally cool and educational.”

McLean interest

Daniel Farke landed his midfield recruits in the closing days of the summer window, with an estimated £11 million spent to bring in Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev. However, the former Norwich City boss was reportedly determined to be reunited with Kenny McLean.

The Scotland international signed a contract extension at Carrow Road in September, extending his stay until 2026. The Athletic claim Norwich ‘refused to entertain’ the prospect of McLean’s sale to Leeds, despite an offer in the region of £4m being lodged for the 31-year-old.
