13 players who could miss Everton vs Arsenal as Mikel Arteta injury woes continue

Latest injury and availability news ahead of Arsenal’s next Premier League fixture against Everton with 13 players potentially sidelined

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall may have just shared an update on his hamstring injury which saw him withdrawn at the weekend against Chelsea.

It was a frustrating afternoon at Stamford Bridge for Everton, who saw injuries compound their defeat against Enzo Maresca’s side.

Dewsbury-Hall suffered a hamstring injury in the early stages and was very quickly taken out of the game.

Not a lot has been said in the meantime, with David Moyes not able to offer much of an update in the hours after the game.

Just hours out from the game against Arsenal, the midfielder appears to have beaten his 62-year-old manager to the injury news.

Arsenal face their next Premier League test at Everton, hoping to secure themselves at the top of the table by the time Christmas Day rolls around.

This weekend will be the final round of fixtures before the festive period and if the Gunners do remain leaders of the pack, it puts them in a typically good position to go on and win the title come May. In 11 of the last 16 seasons, the team top at Christmas have become champions.

Only a positive result against Everton will ensure that – something that has often eluded Mikel Arteta in his time as Arsenal manager.

The Spaniard has lost to his former club three times in fixtures on Merseyside. However, they took place at Goodison Park, and now the Gunners have a new challenge of conquering a new venue – Everton’s brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

If they are to do it, they are set to be without several key players in defence. That said, it is not only Arteta juggling his available players, as David Moyes also faces a selection crisis this December.

With that, football.london examines up to 13 stars who could miss this weekend’s Premier League clash.

Kai Havertz has been sidelined since August with a knee injury sustained during the opening game of the season.

While he is reportedly nearing a return and targeting an appearance before the end of the year, Arteta has emphasised the need for careful management, and he is not expected to be fit for the Everton match.

The Brazilian defender is currently recovering from a thigh/abductor injury picked up during the November international break.

Arteta noted that while Gabriel Magalhaes is progressing well, the Everton game comes too soon. Reports suggest he is instead aiming for a return against Aston Villa later this month.

Ben White suffered a hamstring injury last weekend Arsenal’s recent 2-1 win over Wolves.

Mikel Arteta expressed concern following the match, meaning the defender could likely missing the entire festive period.
