SKY CONFIRM: Charlton Athletic Strike Agreement with Southend United for Tom Hopper
Sky Sports have confirmed that Charlton Athletic have reached an agreement with Southend United to sign experienced forward Tom Hopper. The deal, believed to be permanent, marks a significant move for Charlton as they continue to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Hopper, 30, returns to The Valley having previously played for Southend between 2017 and 2020, where he was a consistent performer. The Addicks see him as a key addition to bring leadership and experience to their frontline. His physical presence and work rate are expected to complement Charlton’s attacking options.
Southend, currently rebuilding under new management, were open to letting Hopper leave to pursue a fresh challenge at a higher level. The deal is expected to be finalised following a routine medical and the completion of personal terms.
