SKY CONFIRM: AFC Wimbledon Agree £679k Deal With Rotherham United for Jordan Hugill

Sky Sports has confirmed that AFC Wimbledon have agreed a deal worth £679,000 with Rotherham United for experienced striker Jordan Hugill. The 32-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days ahead of finalising personal terms with the League Two side.

Hugill, who has played in the Championship and Premier League during his career, including stints with West Ham United, Preston North End, and Middlesbrough, brings a wealth of experience to Johnnie Jackson’s squad. AFC Wimbledon are believed to have fought off competition from several League One clubs to secure his signature.

This move marks a major statement of intent by Wimbledon, who are looking to mount a serious promotion push next season. Hugill’s physical presence and goal-scoring pedigree could prove to be a decisive factor in the Dons’ campaign.

The fee, reported to be £679,000, is one of the largest in the club’s history and signals the board’s growing ambition. Rotherham, recently relegated from the Championship, are keen to reshape their squad and reduce the wage bill, paving the way for Hugill’s departure.

An official announcement is expected once medical and contract formalities are completed later this week.
