SKY CONFIRM: “Stockport County FC VS Leyton Orient” Match Not to be Televised Due to Scheduling Conflict

Sky Sports has officially confirmed that the upcoming League One fixture between Stockport County FC and Leyton Orient will not be televised due to a scheduling conflict with higher-profile matches across the network’s weekend coverage.

The broadcaster revealed that its resources will be focused on covering Premier League and Championship matches during the same broadcast window. As a result, Stockport’s home clash with Leyton Orient — originally tipped as a potential candidate for live TV due to the clubs’ strong form — will be omitted from the lineup.

A Sky Sports spokesperson stated: “While we recognise the importance of matches across all divisions, our coverage must prioritise audience demand and logistical constraints. We regret that this match will not be available for live broadcast.”

Fans of both clubs have expressed frustration, particularly given Stockport’s recent promotion and Leyton Orient’s push for a playoff place. Supporters will still be able to follow the match through club audio commentary, live text updates, and post-match highlights.

The decision highlights the ongoing challenge of balancing national TV coverage across the English Football League amid a packed football calendar.
