SAD NEWS: Wrexham Legend Arfon Griffiths Dies Aged 83
Wrexham AFC is mourning the loss of club legend Arfon Griffiths, who has passed away at the age of 83. A true icon of Welsh football, Griffiths made over 550 appearances for Wrexham and also earned 17 caps for Wales.
Known as “The Prince of Wales,” he played a key role in the club’s historic rise during the 1970s, both as a player and later as manager. Under his leadership, Wrexham achieved promotion to the Second Division in 1978. His contributions to Welsh football earned him an MBE in 1976. Loved by fans and respected across the football world, Griffiths leaves behind a remarkable legacy.
