Stevie Nicks has officially announced her departure from Fleetwood Mac, citing the irreplaceable loss of her longtime bandmate Christine McVie as the primary reason.
McVie, who passed away in November 2022, was not only a key contributor to the band’s success but also Nicks’ closest friend and musical confidante. Nicks expressed that without McVie, continuing the band feels impossible, stating, “Without Christine, no can do”
Additionally, Nicks highlighted ongoing tensions with former guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, who was dismissed from the band in 2018. She emphasized that even if reconciliation were possible, Buckingham’s health issues would hinder the demanding nature of touring .
While Fleetwood Mac’s journey has concluded, Nicks remains committed to preserving the band’s legacy through her solo performances. She continues to perform classic hits like “Dreams” and “Rhiannon,” ensuring that the spirit of Fleetwood Mac endures for fans worldwide .
