SKY CONFIRM: Bournemouth Agree £2.6m Deal With Luton Town for Nakamura

Sky Sports has confirmed that Bournemouth have agreed a deal worth £2.6 million with Luton Town for the signing of Japanese midfielder Daiki Nakamura. The 23-year-old, who only joined Luton last summer, has impressed during his debut Premier League campaign despite the club’s relegation battle, catching the eye of several top-flight sides.

Nakamura, known for his energy, composure in possession, and tactical discipline, made 31 league appearances for Luton this season, scoring twice and assisting four times. His performances in a struggling side stood out, with Bournemouth moving quickly to secure his services ahead of the summer window.

According to Sky, personal terms have already been agreed, and Nakamura is expected to undergo a medical on the south coast in the coming days. The Cherries see him as an ideal fit for Andoni Iraola’s high-pressing system, providing depth and versatility in central midfield as the club aims to build on a promising season.

Luton, meanwhile, are believed to be resigned to Nakamura’s departure, viewing the deal as a necessary move to raise funds following their return to the Championship. The club is expected to reinvest a portion of the fee into strengthening their squad ahead of a push for promotion next term.

Nakamura’s move marks Bournemouth’s first signing of the summer and signals their intent to act early in the market. The deal is expected to be finalized within the week, pending final medical checks.
