Ohio State Star Jeremiah Smith Shares 3-Word Message for Air Noland After Transfer Portal Move
The Ohio State Buckeyes are preparing for the 2024 College Football Playoff, but they are also hard at work when it comes to the transfer portal. Unfortunately, it appears they could lose one of their own players, as quarterback Air Noland entered the transfer portal on Monday, which drew a three-word message from Jeremiah Smith.
Noland spent the 2024 campaign with the Buckeyes after committing to them back in April of 2023, but he did not take the field for them during the season. Noland is still young, as he is a true freshman, so he opted to enter the transfer portal and see if he could find a new home where he will get some playing time. While it may seem insignificant on the surface since Noland didn’t play, he built bonds with his teammates at Ohio State during his time there. That included their star wide receiver in Smith, who shared a quick message to Noland once news of his transfer portal decision came out. “Love ya boy,” Smith said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to Noland entering the transfer portal.
Smith and Noland broke into Ohio State as part of the same recruiting class, and they became close friends as a result. While Noland spent his time glued to the bench, Smith has been one of the Buckeyes top offensive playmakers, as he’s hauled in 57 passes for 934 yards while scoring 11 total touchdowns.
Noland was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, so he should draw some interest from quarterback-needy schools across the nation. Just because he entered the transfer portal doesn’t mean he’s necessarily going to leave, but as of right now, it seems like his intent is to find a new home where he can get some snaps on the field. As for Smith and the Buckeyes, they will have to keep their attention on their upcoming CFP matchup. After their stunning defeat in their regular season finale against the Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State is set to take on Tennessee in their first-round matchup, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. EST on Saturday Dec. 21.
