Sky Confirm: Lincoln City vs. Wycombe Wanderers Postponed

The League One clash between Lincoln City and Wycombe Wanderers, originally scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed. Sky Sports has confirmed the decision, citing safety concerns following a waterlogged pitch at the LNER Stadium. Persistent heavy rain over the past week has left the playing surface unfit for action, with ground staff unable to remedy the conditions in time.

The announcement comes after a pitch inspection conducted by match officials, who deemed the surface unsafe for players. Both clubs have expressed disappointment over the delay but acknowledged that player and fan safety must take priority.

Lincoln City stated, “While we are eager to welcome Wycombe Wanderers and our supporters, adverse weather has made the pitch unplayable. We are working closely with the EFL to reschedule the fixture.” Wycombe echoed similar sentiments, urging fans to retain their tickets for the rearranged match.

Supporters who had planned to attend are advised to monitor both clubs’ official websites for updates on the new match date. Refund options will also be made available.

This postponement marks yet another challenge for League One scheduling amidst unpredictable weather, with the fixture congestion likely to pose difficulties later in the season.
