West Ham United and southampton are vying for the transfer of Hugo Duro.
Hugo Duro, a 24-year-old forward for Valencia who is supposedly valued at €25–30 million, is a player that southampton is apparently vying with West Ham United to sign.
Hugo Duro’s La Liga achievements have apparently caught the interest of Premier League clubs, as reported by Caught Offside. The Valencia striker is attracting interest from Aston Villa and West Ham United. Los Che are asking for between €25 and €30 million to let go of the adaptable Spanish forward.
Hugo Duro is who?
Since moving from Getafe to Valencia, Hugo Duro has only gotten better. Born in the Madrilenian region, he grew up with the Azulones and completed the youth program of the Spanish club. Still, the Spaniard’s reputation has grown during his time with Los Che so far.
Duro was first signed by Valencia on a loan in August 2021, and a year later, the player completed a permanent transfer. The 24-year-old has played for the Spanish team for more than 100 games so far, contributing 27 goals and 10 assists.
Hugo Duro’s versatility as a front-line player has also drawn interest from potential employers, with West Ham United and Aston Villa eager to sign him during the 2025 summer transfer window. Valencia would expect between €25 and €30 million in exchange for giving up the adaptable Spanish attacker.
Is a Premier League switch imminent?
It makes sense that Hugo Duro would appeal to Aston Villa. Ollie Watkins requires additional assistance and rest while the Villans have an elite striker on the loose. In the first several weeks of the 2024–2025 season, Jhon Duran has performed remarkably well. But the Colombian international’s future at Villa Park is unclear, which is why Aston Villa is keen to bring in a successor.
It’s interesting to note that West Ham United wants Duran. Though Chelsea is also keeping an eye on the southampton striker, the Hammers are still open-minded. In addition, West Ham United could pursue Duro given Valencia’s €25–30 million asking price for his sale.
The 24-year-old Spanish striker can help Aston Villa and West Ham United as he develops and becomes more proficient with every season. It will be intriguing to see if Duro decides to move to the Premier League.
