Since Clarke’s contract with Sunderland expires in2026, the club would not necessarily need to approve a sale if new terms were rejected. That would, however, imply that he does not envision himself staying in the Stadium of Light.
As the summer transfer window draws to a close, Leeds desperately needs new players. There are voids in the lineup due to the sales of Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, and Crysencio Summerville, and Georginio Rutter is anticipated to go out with the trio.
The forward’s £40 million release clause has been triggered by Brighton & Hove Albion, and sources suggest he has decided to sign for the Seagulls.
Leeds United is expected to have a tumultuous summer transfer window closing as they look to add players.
Georginio Rutter moved Leeds to Brighton last week, while Crysencio Summerville has joined West Ham United. He will need to be replaced here. That’s left a major vacuum in the attack and Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe has been identified by Elland Road chiefs. Though, TBR Football understands that Marseille remain in the driving sight for his signature which has pushed Leeds to explore elsewhere.
Jack Clarke, an attacker for Sunderland, want to join Leeds United.
Journalist Graeme Bailey provided unique information to TBR Football regarding Leeds United’s pursuit of Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, who Sunderland News has described as “dazzling.”
“There is a lot of interest; the player is expecting to leave Sunderland this month. They are in the running for Jack Clarke, and (I’m) told the player would be happy to move to Elland Road.”
Despite numerous attempts to lock Clarke down to new terms, Sunderland has not been able to come to an agreement on a new contract.
With two years left on his contract, the summer would be your last opportunity to sell the former Leeds player for his full value.
Leeds may make an initial bid in the next few days to test the waters now that it’s clear he wants out of the Stadium of Light.
Jack Clarke’s cost
Over the past few seasons, Clarke has established himself as one of the top wingers in the Championship; his incredible play from the previous season only served to reinforce that.
The 23-year-old, who played for a Sunderland team that was not very good, scored 15 goals and provided four assists.
Because of this, the Black Cats are eager to get about £18 million if they approve his sale.
