West Ham United still have a couple of barriers to overcome in their quest to sign Crysencio Summerville.
That’s according to Sky journalist
rian Plettenberg, who believes that full agreements are yet to be struck with the Dutchman and Leeds United, who will be wanting to negotiate the best possible deal for themselves.
The Irons, however, look to be in pole position to get a deal over the line for the winger, who was nothing short of brilliant for the Whites during the 2023/24 campaign, registering plenty of goals and assists.
Some of these goal contributions proved to be crucial for the Whites in their quest to secure a place in the promotion mix, with Daniel Farke’s side finishing third on 90 points in the end.
Summerville is one of a few Leeds players who can count themselves unlucky not to have won promotion at the end of last term, but some of these players could still secure a Premier League move this summer.
Archie Gray has already made the move to Tottenham Hotspur, with the England youth international doing more than enough during the 2023/24 season to put himself in the shop window.
Glen Kamara, meanwhile, has moved to France to link up with top-tier outfit Stade Rennais.
West Ham barriers to overcome in Crysencio Summerville pursuit
With these two sales in mind, it was unclear whether the Whites were going to offload any other first-teamers before the end of the window – and it looks as though Summerville is the next key man who will leave Elland Road.
However, there are still a few hurdles to be jumped in order to get a deal over the line.
